  • Amazing Grace, a Women's Wellness Retreat
    4-day Celebration, 8-11 March 2018

Amazing Grace is a women’s wellness retreat inspired by a vision to create a new space for women living in urban centres to convene over a long weekend, share inspiration and celebrate life, love and the extraordinary creative energy that enlivens and unifies us as One.

At Fivelements, we recognize that optimal wellness comes from embracing and respecting the body, mind and spirit, where health and self-realisation are reflections of the love, authenticity and harmony within. As women, we carry a strong nurturing instinct, and this natural drive to care for others sometimes supersedes our ability to care for ourselves. Amazing Grace is designed for women to take a short break from the daily routines and allow ourselves the precious time and experience of learning, sharing and growing together in the safe and beautiful environs of our holistic urban retreat nestled in the green hills of Sai Kung.

The four-day programme, available in its entirety or by full or half-day formats and in residential and non-residential options, has been carefully curated as a holistic integrative wellness programme. Illuminating dialogues and dynamic Sacred Arts sessions are guided by specialists in Women’s Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing, Yoga, Meditation, Somatic Awareness, Vibrational Healing and Dynamic Movement.

The retreat will kick off on International Women’s Day, March 8th, with an exclusive photographic debut of Women in Bali, a collection of images reflecting the flow of the feminine side of the island and a harmony that is continually reinvented through a discovery experienced solely by the beholder. In the artist’s shots, women move with grace and strength: they dance, work, live and smile between rocky appearances and landscapes in motion, in the expanded dimensions of spirituality.

Italian photographer, Bruna Rotunno, will share her profound journey and the inspiration behind the making of Women in Bali. The event will run a second time on the evening of March 10th. Both events will commence with an inspiring talk by the Italian artist, followed by a Balinese-inspired culinary journey featuring handcrafted plant-based gastronomy in the award-winning Fivelements Sakti Dining Room™.

Throughout the weekend, my wish is for each of us to embark upon an authentic journey surrendering to newfound trust, freedom and joy, to embrace new avenues of balancing our life choices, and to lead our families, friends and communities toward greater peace for the wellbeing of humanity.

Please join me for this unique women’s retreat in celebration of our individual and collective Amazing Grace.

    Bruna Rotunno, Women in Bali

Featured previously at Fivelements Bali, The Visual Arts Gallery of India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India and the Museum of Oriental Arts in Turin, Italy, Fivelements is pleased to bring you this exclusive debut of Women in Bali at the holistic wellness retreat in Hong Kong.

    Martha Collard

Martha is a Gong Master & Sound Healer who offers holistic solutions for calm amidst chaos. Previously a management consultant for over 25 years she now focuses on personal healing and staff engagement, helping others embrace their life journey using a blend of ancient practices from sound healing and walking on labyrinths to coaching and facilitation.

    Labyrinth

A special labyrinth designed by Martha Collard will greet you at the entrance of Fivelements each day and welcome you into our women’s wellness retreat with kind and loving intentions.

Labyrinths are ancient tools used for walking meditation. The oldest patterns are estimated to be sited over 5,000 years ago and were found in North and South America, the Mediterranean, throughout Europe, India and Indonesia. To this day it is a mystery why they were built or by whom; however, one thing is certain: the simple act of walking their circuitous path calms the mind and serves as a metaphor for our lives.

There are three components to walking the labyrinth:

    • Walking towards the centre is a process of letting go
    • In the centre, we receive
    • As you leave the centre and walk back outward, we consolidate and integrate

There are no rules to walking the labyrinth. We suggest you embrace the journey taking the time to allow the labyrinth to meet you where you are and take you where you need to go. In life, we speak of the journey, not the destination, so it is with labyrinths.

Labyrinths offer a path of discovery. We invite you to take the first step.

    The Art of Journaling

One of the key components in any self-transformation is the ability to become witness. In this brief workshop we will explore journaling as a means of becoming witness. You will receive tips on how to approach journaling and how to develop the practice throughout the retreat and beyond.

    Journey Within Meditation

In this session, we start with a gentle set of body movements to encourage energy flow and comfort during sitting. We then progress to pranayama, breathing exercises, which bring us deeper within ourselves and begin the process of calming the mind. Finally we enjoy a guided relaxation and meditation to bring us inward and appreciate the beauty and truth of our true self. Over time, the practice of meditation leads to greater clarity, joy, improved memory, less stress and enhanced wellbeing in every aspect of life. Meditation can be extremely beneficial at any age and any fitness level.

This Practice needs no experience, just a willingness to explore new ways of moving. We will focus on Bringing in Embodiment – we tend to disconnect when we go through intense life lessons and this 5 Rhythms practice allows us enter into our bodies wisdom and intuition, and have a lot of fun.

Cultivating a yoga practice for more than 10 years, her deep reverence for nature and passion for the workings of the universe lead her to study under a number of knowledgeable gurus and teachers, until she found herself aligned with the lineage of Cha Dao from a Tea Master in Taiwan. She has since returned to Hong Kong with a dedication to promote an awakening of harmony through Tea Ceremonies so others can explore and discover the sacred benefits of the Leaf.

    Mindful Tea

Cha Dao, “The Way of Tea”, is a path to cultivate an awakened presence and inner harmony through tea. A Tea Ceremony is a dance of the elements. The earth, fire, water, air and the Spirit of Tea, come together to create space for meditation and reflection. We learn how Tea is a plant teacher that connects us to the energy of nature through the leaf. As we drink, Tea communicates with us in a language from a wiser, far older world. We are guided and healed from our mind, body and spirit to revive the sacred connection we have with the Earth. When used in ceremony, this deep alchemy leads to inner transformation and self-development.

Women in Bali is a photography project, between art and reportage, a journey of images in the heart of Bali and a tribute to the energy of all the women who live there. Bruna Rotunno portrays the female universe and the creative power of the island where water is revered as the most sacred source of life. In the artist’s shots, women move with grace and strength: they dance, work, live and smile between rocky appearances and landscapes in motion, in the expanded dimensions of spirituality.

The two events will commence with an inspiring talk by the Italian artist, Bruna Rotunno, followed by a Balinese-Inspired Culinary Journey featuring handcrafted plant-based gastronomy in the award-winning Fivelements Sakti Dining Room™.

Women in Bali exhibition and book signings by the artist will be available at Fivelements Hong Kong in the premier Hong Kong Golf & Tennis Academy in Sai Kung during Amazing Grace, the Women’s Wellness Programme, 8-11 March 2018.

    Women’s Health & Hormones

This session will discuss how balancing hormones gets you to achieve superior health and wellbeing through effective nutrition and appropriate exercise. We will review the latest research on what type of exercise delivers best results and the nutritional needs to repair, rebuild and regenerate your cells. You will ultimately discover how balancing hormones in general, and for women in particular, can help to avoid weight gain, inflammation and slow down the so-called ageing process.

Looking into anatomy and physiology of the body from the perspective of health, we experientially tune into our body’s different layers, finding new ways of being self-connected and moving. In this workshop you will explore tools of body awareness, experientially covering material related to bones, organs and endocrines systems that bring support to your spine. Using anatomical and physiological knowledge, as well as guided visualization, breath, hands-on, voice, vibration, movement exploration and Asanas, Anne will guide you into consciously moving, so you can increase your sensory awareness, body alignment to access the ease and wisdom of your body in motion.
