Divinely Inspired – with Debra Moffitt
Co-founder Lahra recently went on award-winning author Debra Moffitt’s radio show Divinely Inspired, to talk about Fivelements as a transformational business. She discussed the mission, values and vision of Fivelements, the role intuition played in the making of the retreat, and the divine magic that infuses every stay and helps love in action and life transformations blossom for their guests. “Fivelements is not an escape, it is a place where you plug in to yourself,” she said.
“I am grateful to be a humble instrument
in the divine orchestra of this life.”

“Fivelements is the manifestation of our vision, our dreams, our love.
And we have created this Balinese sanctuary of healing, happiness and wellbeing for guests
to discover their own vision, dreams and love in turn.”

Five years ago, the eco-wellness retreat, Fivelements, opened its unique healing space to guests for the first time in Bali. Since then, the beautiful bamboo-designed sanctuary by the Ayung River has offered a restorative and spiritual space for personal transformations and love in action. Combining traditional wisdom with a spirit of innovation and excellence, Fivelements has surpassed our expectations, our dreams. We have won awards, attracted the best in wellness partners and truly reinvented what it means to retreat.
Here at Fivelements we practice Ahimsa – love and respect for all life. This practice includes showing compassion for some of the less popular creatures that we live amongst, such as the dreaded mosquito. In order to understand how we can more happily coexist with these little nuisances, we have recently made it our business to learn how they live and breed.
Upon hearing that familiar buzz in the ear, most people use a commercial repellent, and some chemical sprays are quite effective. However, if you take a careful look it turns out there are many environmentally friendly ways to minimize the annoying presence of mosquitos without killing them.

What is Happiness?
We all want it, but is it something we can buy, sell, create or invest? Can it last, can it fade? Where does it come from? Where does it go?
These are just some of the questions I have asked myself over the years and now, on International Happiness Day, I ask you.
Earth Hour is on Saturday, 19 March 2016 8:30 p.m. local time.
The international ‘Earth Hour’ is upon us and, being a healing space dedicated to
life transformation and love in action, we feel it is a crucial act that carries an incredibly important message and
feel it is a concept that we should all embrace.
Taking place on 19 March between 8.30 and 9.30pm local time, the lights off event unifies people across the globe to shine a light on climate action, where individuals, businesses, cities and landmarks switch off their lights for one hour to draw attention to climate change.
At Fivelements, Balinese spiritual teacher, Acharya Vibhakarananda Avadhuta (Dada) tells us that Nyepi, part of the Saka calendar (from the Sanskrit Isakawarsa), has been celebrated from as far back as AD79. The book Babad Bali (the history of Bali) tells of the tolerance and unity that allowed this Hindu festival to become a fixture.
Our successful foundation would not be possible
without the amazing people whom over time have become part of the greater Fivelements family.
Here members of Fivelements family share how Fivelements has inspired them over the years.
